The challenge of optimising and editing an Adwords campaign can be a daunting task especially when you are new to Adwords. Along comes Adwords Editor. A free, simple to use tool available for PC and Macs that I highly recommend for all participants in this years Google Challenge. In a nutshell, Adwords editor is a desktop app that is used for creating, editing and managing everything there is to manage in your Adwords campaign. Keywords, ads, ad groups and campaign settings can all be edited and created from this desktop program and then uploaded to your account in real time.
Here are 5 reasons why I believe this tool should be used by both novice and expert PPC marketers alike:
- Adwords Editor has a simple, clean and easy to use interface that doesn’t throw all the data at you at once.
- Easy to synchronize with your Adwords Account and changes are made in real time.
- Are able to make changes to your campaign while offline.
- When changes are made on the Adwords site, the next time you open up the editor all changes will be highlighted, easily showing what has been edited.
- It’s Free!

The application shows what changes have been made on the editor vs what changes have been made on the Adwords site
Once an Adwords account has been created on Google, the Adwords Editor is at best when creating and editing campaigns, keywords, ads and ad groups. I still would highly recommend using the Adwords site for crunching CTR’s, impressions ect as the editor doesn’t show graphs and other important data.
You can find the AdWords Editor download from the Tools menu in your AdWords account or download here.
