In response to the lecture yesterday for Integrated Marketing Communications, I have researched a few outstanding past outdoor support media efforts for Surfing and Dive brands that could spark some creative juices for the marketing crew at Radiator to increase brand awareness. After all, the campaign has shown us that California is in need of a brand identity strategy if Bob Lushey decided to break into this market.
Recapping the major points for Support Media:
1. Support media can actually be used as the major source of media for a brand - so long as it is simple, short, straight to point and sends an effective message to consumers.
2. Is inexpensive, in comparison to major forms of media.
3. Some of the best outdoor ads involve humour or even a hint of ‘sex’ to quickly grab the viewer’s attention.
